This is a presentation (with updates on the struggle to Save Weelaunee Forest and Stop Cop City from being built) and conversations on things learned at this struggle, upcoming projects born at Weelaunee and ending up with an interactive skills share on how to make all things corn Mexico style.This event aims to build bridges of solidarity and cooperation/ collaboration between the American and European continents. This event has 3 moments: the first part is updates on the Weelaunee struggle (30 minutes + 15 Q&A) second part is a conversation about my and my collective’s experience in the struggle to save Weelaunee; my participation as an indigenous migrant trans femme (30 minutes + 15 Q&A) and my realizations. The last part is a skill share on how to make fdifferent Nahuatl foods with Corn. (30 minutes + eating together). 2 and a half hours + eating together.

Es handelt sich um eine Präsentation (mit aktuellen Informationen über den Kampf zur Rettung des Weelaunee-Waldes und zur Verhinderung des Baus von Cop City) und Gespräche über Dinge, die bei diesem Kampf gelernt wurden, sowie über bevorstehende Projekte, die in Weelaunee entstehen, und am Ende ein interaktiver Erfahrungsaustausch über die Herstellung von Mais nach mexikanischer Art.Diese Veranstaltung zielt darauf ab, Brücken der Solidarität und Zusammenarbeit zwischen dem amerikanischen und dem europäischen Kontinent zu bauen. Die Veranstaltung besteht aus drei Teilen: der erste Teil ist ein Update über den Kampf um Weelaunee (30 Minuten + 15 Fragen und Antworten), der zweite Teil ist ein Gespräch über meine Erfahrungen und die meines Kollektivs im Kampf um Weelaunee, meine Teilnahme als indigene Migrantin und Transfrau (30 Minuten + 15 Fragen und Antworten) und meine Erkenntnisse. Der letzte Teil ist ein Erfahrungsaustausch darüber, wie man verschiedene Nahuatl-Gerichte mit Mais zubereitet. (30 Minuten + gemeinsames Essen). 2 und eine halbe Stunde + gemeinsames Essen.
Aber wir können den Vortrag/die Vermittlung von Fertigkeiten immer an die spezifischen Bedürfnisse des Publikums und den Kontext anpassen.

My name is Abundia Alvarado (also my grandmother’s name whom I am honoring by carrying her name). She/her.
I am a Nahuatl-Chiricahua Apache trans femme migrant from Tenochtitlan (so called Mexico City ) living in the south of USA currently. I am participating at System Change as a member of The Weelaunee Collective, a group working on systematizing/ sharing the experience of the Weelaunee Forest/Stop Cop City struggle.
I’ve participated in struggles/projects such as food justice,indigenous and QTpo rights, mutual aid, anti-speciesism, land back/defense and the abolition of police.
