Ob wir das nun gut finden oder nicht: Parolen – also auf einen Haus-Maus-Reim heruntergebrochene Kurzbotschaften – gehören mit zum Wahrnehmbarsten von dem was wir als Linke so von uns geben. Ob auf Demos oder Kundgebungen skandiert, auf Transparente und Klokacheln gepinselt oder auf Konzerten und Parties gegrölt. Allerdings haben wir den Eindruck, dass es trotz dieser Verbreitung wenig kollektive Debatte über Form und Inhalt davon gibt.

In diesem Workshop wollen wir gemeinsam darüber diskutieren, warum wir als radikale Linke überhaupt Parolen rufen, welche Inhalte sich darüber vermitteln lassen und welche eher nicht und auch der Frage nachgehen, wann und wo manche Aussprüche eher weniger Sinn machen könnten als andere.

Whether we like it or not, slogans - short messages broken down into a house-mouse rhyme - are one of the most recognisable things we say as left-wingers. Whether chanted at demonstrations or rallies, painted on banners and toilet tiles or shouted at concerts and parties. However, we have the impression that there is little collective debate about the form and content of this despite its prevalence.

In this workshop, we want to discuss together why we, as the radical left, shout slogans at all, what content can be conveyed through them and what not, and also explore the question of when and where some slogans might make less sense than others.
