Es gibt kaum noch ernsthafte linke Debatten über Technologiekritik. Die grundsätzliche Frage, ob eine Technologie überhaupt befreiendes Potential hat, oder ausschließlich unterdrückendes und ob man aus Konsequenz aus letzterem möglichst ganz auf diese Technologien verzichten sollte wird nicht mehr gestellt. Viele Linke haben sich damit abgefunden, dass wir über jedes Stöckchen springen müssen, dass das BigTech-Kapital uns hinwirft und dann eben auch Instagram, TikTok und jetzt auch sogenannte KI nutzen müssen um an "Reichweite" mitzuhalten. Dieser Vortrag möchte diese Akzeptanz provokant in Frage stellen.

There are hardly any serious left-wing debates about technology criticism anymore. The fundamental question of whether a technology has any liberating potential at all—or whether it is exclusively oppressive—and whether, as a consequence of the latter, we should do without these technologies entirely if possible, is no longer being asked. Many on the left have resigned themselves to the fact that we have to jump through every hoop that Big Tech capital throws at us and, as a result, must use Instagram, TikTok, and now so-called AI to keep up with “reach.” This talk aims to provocatively challenge this acceptance.
