Building community in your neighbourhood means creating local resistance to oppressive systems.
This year, 11 of my friends and I moved to a new city to figure out what it takes to connect people. We lived in a small community of 12 people in a three-bedroom apartment (don't tell the landlord). We ended up turning our living room into a social, cultural and political gathering space for people from all across the city.
In this workshop, I'll share a bit about how that went, and together we will connect it to "the Four Winds Guide to Revolution", a manifesto by the New Black Panther Party on why and how to build community in your local area to able to build a new world that is not dependent on the current systems of power.
Then together we'll brainstorm and plan what you can do where you live, and we can exchange our ideas, doubts and experiences.

Eine Gemeinschaft in der Nachbarschaft aufzubauen bedeutet, vor Ort Widerstand gegen unterdrückerische Systeme zu leisten.
Dieses Jahr sind 11 meiner Freunde und ich in eine neue Stadt gezogen, um herauszufinden, was es braucht, um Menschen miteinander zu verbinden. Wir lebten in einer kleinen Gemeinschaft von 12 Personen in einer Dreizimmerwohnung (verratet es dem Vermieter nicht). Am Ende haben wir unser Wohnzimmer in einen sozialen, kulturellen und politischen Treffpunkt für Menschen aus der ganzen Stadt verwandelt.
In diesem Workshop werde ich ein wenig darüber erzählen, wie das gelaufen ist, und gemeinsam werden wir eine Verbindung zu „The Four Winds Guide to Revolution“ herstellen, einem Manifest der New Black Panther Party darüber, warum und wie man in seiner Umgebung Gemeinschaft aufbaut, um eine neue Welt zu schaffen, die nicht von den derzeitigen Machtsystemen abhängig ist.
Anschließend werden wir gemeinsam Ideen sammeln und planen, was ihr an eurem Wohnort tun könnt, und wir können unsere Ideen, Zweifel und Erfahrungen austauschen.

Eine Dreizimmerwohnung mit elf anderen Menschen teilen. Das eigene Wohnzimmer in einen sozialen, kulturellen und politischen Treffpunkt für Menschen aus der ganzen Stadt verwandeln. Die politischen und aktivistischen Implikationen des Aufbaus einer Gemeinschaft in der eigenen Nachbarschaft.
In diesem Workshop werde ich Erfahrungen teilen, wir werden uns gemeinsam mit diesen Themen auseinandersetzen und planen, wie ihr in eurer Nachbarschaft Fürsorge und Resilienz stärken könnt.
