Techno-Faschisten gewinnen an Macht, aber wir können sie bekämpfen. Microsoft unterstützt Kriegsverbrecher und Überwachungsstaaten. Der Konzern weiß, wo du letzten Sommer demonstriert hast – und mit wem. Er will, dass wir abhängig sind. Was überraschend ist: Aufhören ist einfach.

Linux ist nur was für Nerds, hieß es lange. Heute ist Linux Mint das Betriebssystem für Großeltern. Obskure Kommandos? Brauchst du nicht. Spiele? Früher unmöglich, jetzt kann sie der Pinguin prima, oft sogar besser als Windows. Der Platzhirsch versinkt in Scheiße, es ist an der Zeit für den Absprung.

Keine Frage, so ein Wechsel macht Arbeit. Aber die zahlt sich aus, und zwar zügig. Denn nicht nur ist Freie Software die Allmende, die wächst, je mehr sie genutzt wird. Sie respektiert deine Freiheit, Sicherheit und Aufmerksamkeit. Und ohne Spionagesoftware, KI-Bloat und sonstigen Müll laufen selbst alte Computer wieder schnell – neue Hardware ist überflüssig.

Für Zweifel und Fragen ist die Session genau der richtige Ort. Ablauf ungefähr:

• Input (ca. 40 Minuten)
• Fragen & Diskussion (ca. 20 Minuten)
• Optionen zum gefahrlosen Ausprobieren (restliche ca. 30 Minuten)

Im Anschluss (und solange wir auf dem Camp sind) gibt's an unserem Stand noch reichlich Zeit zum lockeren Austausch: Fragen, Probleme, Lösungen, Testläufe, Plaudern... Auch werden wir dir sagen, wann Linux nicht die beste Wahl für dich ist. (Namentlich vor allem: wenn du eine bestimmte Screen-Reader- oder Spracheingabe-Lösung brauchst oder berufliche Spezialsoftware nutzen musst.)

Techno-fascism is on the rise, but we can fight back. You can fight back. Microsoft enables war criminals and surveillance states. It can extort us. It knows where you protested last summer—and with whom. Yet we keep giving it our money and data. Surprisingly, stopping is easy.

Linux is no longer the operating system for nerds: it is the operating system for grandparents (namely, as Linux Mint). Gone are the days of typing in terminals. Gaming often works better than on Windows. Meanwhile, Windows is on the slippery slope of shit. It's a great time to switch.

Admittedly, the switch takes some work, but it will pay off quickly. Freed from bloatware and spyware, your computer will run faster, last longer and drain less energy. In-your-face AI nagging will be a thing of the past, as will forced updates at the most inopportune moment.

Not sure? No worries. The session's goal is to help you make your best choice. It will proceed roughly like this:

• Input (approx. 40 minutes)
• Questions & discussion (approx. 20 minutes)
• Risk-free options to try Linux out (rest of the 90 minutes)

Afterwards (and as long as we're on the camp) there will be ample time for informal exchange at our tent: Questions, problems, solutions, testing, chatting... We will also tell you when Linux is not your best option. (Most notably: if you need a specific screen reader or voice input tool, or if you need specific professional software.)
