We are homesteading near the borders between Czech republic, Germany and Poland for 15 years. We keep animals from the beginning and we have strong opinions why having and good caring for animals is important for any post-collapse agriculture.
In the talk we first want to introduce our homestead, then have short teoreticall background what is the place of animals in small farm future and then go to details what animals we have and why.
We have now horses for work, cow for milk and meat, sheep for wool and meat, pigs for meat and soil preparation, rabbits for meat, chickens for eggs and meat, ducks for eggs and pest control, dogs for fun and security, cats for pest control, bees for honey and polination and all of them together for bringing fertility to our garden and field.
