How discrimination impacts African women in activism? (EN)
2026-05-28 , Tent B: Anti-colonial, International
Language: English

This workshop explores the realities faced by African women activists working on climate justice, human rights, war, environmental protection, and social justice movements. It will examine how racism, sexism, colonial power structures, and funding inequalities continue to silence or undermine African-led activism, despite African women being at the forefront of community resistance and change.

Through discussions on the climate crisis, the Democratic Republic of Congo, resource exploitation, and global funding disparities, the session will center the voices, resilience, and leadership of African women while questioning who gets visibility, protection, and financial support within global activism spaces.

The workshop also invites participants to reflect on climate injustice, media bias, and the urgent need to support African-led solutions and movements.
