Die industrielle Tierhaltung trägt nicht nur zum Klimawandel bei, sondern ist auch verantwortlich für erhebliche soziale Ungerechtigkeiten, wie z.B. für Landgrabbing. Im Globalen Süden werden monatlich bis zu 50.000 Menschen vertrieben, um neue Flächen für den Futtermittelanbau zu erschließen - Futtermittel, das u.a. nach Deutschland und Europa importiert wird. In 80% der Länder aus denen Futtermittel nach Europa importiert wird, herrscht gleichzeitig Nahrungsmittelknappheit bei Menschen. Der Workshop will die sozialen Auswirkungen des Futtermittelanbaus in den Fokus rücken. Es werden neben Ausbeutungsstrukturen von Arbeiter*innen und direkten Klimafolgen die Zerstörung von Ökosystemen und die direkte Vertreibung von Menschen behandelt.

Industrial livestock farming not only contributes to climate change, but is also responsible for considerable social injustices, such as land grabbing. In the Global South, up to 50,000 people are displaced every month in order to open up new land for the cultivation of animal feed - feed that is imported to Germany and Europe, among other places. In 80% of the countries from which animal feed is imported to Europe, there is also a shortage of food for people. The workshop aims to focus on the social impact of animal feed cultivation. In addition to exploitative labour structures and direct climate impacts, the destruction of ecosystems and the direct displacement of people will be addressed.
