Seit 2001 bringt das Weltsozialforum Bewegungen aus aller Welt zusammen, um gegen neoliberale Globalisierung und Empire an konkreten Alternativen zu arbeiten — unter der Parole „Eine andere Welt ist möglich”. 2026 tagt es erstmals seit Jahren wieder in Afrika: in Cotonou, Benin, mit Schwerpunkten wie Dekolonisierung, Ernährungssouveranität und Klimagerechtigkeit. Der Workshop berichtet vom Forum: was verhandelt wurde, wo die Bewegung steht, was das für linke Organisierung heißt.

Since 2001, the World Social Forum has been bringing together movements from around the world to work on concrete alternatives to neoliberal globalization and empire—under the slogan “Another World Is Possible.” In 2026, it will convene in Africa for the first time in years: in Cotonou, Benin, with a focus on issues such as decolonization, food sovereignty, and climate justice. This workshop will report on the Forum: what was discussed, where the movement stands, and what this means for left-wing organizing.
