Eine Energiewende weg von fossilen Brennstoffen ist sowohl notwendig als auch durchführbar . Dennoch steht die Finanzierung der Wende wiederholt im Weg. In dieser Sitzung werden wir Stadtwerke, Trends in der Finanzierung kritischer Infrastruktur und die Frage untersuchen, wie der Zugang zu Infrastruktur durch verschiedene Finanzierungsformen beeinflusst werden kann. Insbesondere werden wir betrachten, wie die Abhängigkeit von privater Finanzierung durch die Kapitalmärkte Hindernisse in der Energiewende schafft und ob es einen Ansatzpunkt für progressive Politik geben könnte.

An energy transition away from fossil fuel is both necessary and feasible. Yet financing of the transition repeatedly stands in the way. In this session we will examine developments in infrastructure financing, and how the move away from public financing towards capital markets creates roadblocks in energy transition, and limit access. We will examine this move towards private financing and where this may be a point of action for progressive politics.
