Ohne die Streichung der Schulden des Globalen Südens können ungerechte koloniale Herrschaftsverhältnisse nicht überwunden werden und deshalb kann es ohne diesen Schritt auch keine Klima- und globale Gerechtigkeit geben. Heute klingt diese Forderung für die Mehrheitsgesellschaft radikal - dabei ist die Praxis von Schuldenstreichung uralt. In diesem Workshop werden wir uns mit dem Jubilee-Prinzip, das auf dieser Praxis aufbaut, beschäftigen und uns fragen: Wie können wir dieses Konzept heute wirksam werden lassen?

Debt for Climate Germany

Debt for Climate is a global grassroots movement of movements, initiated by the Global South from an anti-colonial perspective. We are building power from the bottom up by uniting workers, Indigenous and local communities, feminists, and faith-based, environmental, social, and climate justice movements in both the Global North and South. Our goal is to cancel the illegitimate financial debt of the Global South to stop exploitation and extractivism, enabling self-determined, just transitions.
