In diesem Workshop setzen wir uns mit den historischen Wurzeln und den heutigen Erscheinungsformen von Rassismus auseinander. Wir analysieren Rassismus als Ideologie, die im Kontext von Kolonialismus, Versklavung und Kapitalansammlung entstanden ist und bis heute globale Machtverhältnisse legitimiert. Im Fokus steht die rassistische Gewalt gegen afrikanische Menschen und ihre Kontinuität, von der Maafa bis zu aktuellen Formen neokolonialer Ausbeutung und systemischer Unterdrückung. Wir beleuchten, wie Rassismus strukturell in europäischen Gesellschaften verankert ist und durch wissenschaftliche Diskurse, Institutionen und soziale Dynamiken reproduziert wird. Zudem diskutieren wir, was antirassistische Organisierung bedeutet, warum die Befreiung Afrikas zentral für jede ernstgemeinte antirassistische Praxis ist und wie solidarische, widerständige Strukturen aufgebaut werden können.

In this workshop, we will examine the historical roots and contemporary manifestations of racism. We analyze racism as an ideology that emerged in the context of colonialism, slavery, and capital accumulation and continues to legitimize global power relations to this day. The focus is on racist violence against African people and its continuity, from the Maafa to current forms of neocolonial exploitation and systemic oppression. We will examine how racism is structurally embedded in European societies and reproduced through scientific discourse, institutions, and social dynamics. We will also discuss what anti-racist organizing means, why the liberation of Africa is central to any serious anti-racist practice, and how structures of solidarity and resistance can be built.
