Wasser ist eine Grundbedingung für Leben – und zugleich eine der am härtesten umkämpften Ressourcen im Zeiten der Klimakrise. Die Tierindustrie spielt hier eine zentrale Rolle: Sie frisst Ressourcen, vergiftet Ökosysteme und verschärft globale wie lokale Wasserungerechtigkeit. Doch was heißt das konkret?
Wir nehmen die Tierindustrie als wasserpolitischen Akteur unter die Lupe: Von der neokolonialen Futtermittelproduktion, über den Import via Megahäfen in Brake und Bremen, über die Güllemassen in der Region Weser-Ems bis hin zum Mordsdurst der Schlachtfabriken. Und wir möchten wit euch ins Gespräch kommen: über die Schnittstellen zwischen Tierindustrie, Klimakrise und Wasserverteilung – und darüber, wie wir Kämpfe für Klimagerechtigkeit radikal und konkret denken können.

The animal industry: a driver of the water and climate crisis both here and globally | Water is essential for life and at the same time one of the most fiercely contested resources in times of climate crisis. The animal industry plays a central role here: it consumes resources, poisons ecosystems, and exacerbates global and local water inequality. But what does that mean?
We take a closer look at the animal industry as a player in water policy: from neocolonial feed production, to imports via mega-ports in Brake and Bremen, to the masses of manure in the Weser-Ems region, to the murderous thirst of slaughterhouses. And we want to talk to you: about the intersections between the animal industry, the climate crisis, and water distribution—and about how we can think radically and concretely about the fight for climate justice.
