To "keep the Internet clean" is the structural factor where racism, capitalism and patriarchy meet. This talk is about the situation of clickworkers in Uganda and Kenya: black women who "keep clean" the white male Internet of the big-tech-industry. Struggling against direct and structural violence/exploitation the women organized and practised resistance.

This talk will be given by Najjuko Joanita (Joey) is a Pan-African feminist activist and organiser committed to the work of weaving new worlds. She interrogates how systems of power are built and sustained, tracing the ways global structures of wealth and decision-making shape the everyday lives of African women and marginalised communities. Her activism centers African feminist traditions of critique and imagination, positioning them as essential tools for dismantling colonial legacies and reimagining just futures. Najjuko’s political calling is as much about inquiry as it is about collective liberation. She continues to build bridges across movements, cultivating spaces of care, resistance, and solidarity. Drawn to joy, creativity, and curiosity, she gathers with others unafraid to stir up beautiful trouble in pursuit of liberation — a living reminder that alternative futures are built not only through struggle, but also through nurturing life, play, and care in the everyday.
